Celebrating 10 Years of Office H2O: A Bottleless Water Machine and a Dream

This July, we raise a glass (of refreshing, purified bottleless water with ice, of course) to 10 years of Office H2O. Over the last decade, we have grown in ways we never knew possible: from 5 team members to 100+, from 1 cooler placed to 19,000, from 1 location to 10, from 1 customer to thousands. What started as a bold idea in a small, 1,000 square foot office space in Indianapolis has grown into one of the Midwest’s most trusted names in bottleless water and ice. As we celebrate this milestone, we want to take a moment to reflect on the journey that brought us here.

2015: Where It All Began

In July of 2015, a young, recent college graduate with an entrepreneurial spirit, Austin Veach, founded Office H2O and opened the doors to our first location in Indianapolis, with just 5 team members and a dream. Guided by the mission to provide workplaces with cleaner, better-tasting water without the bottle, we proudly grew our customer base to 150 trusting businesses in the first year, laying the foundation for everything to follow.

2016: Gaining Momentum

Surviving the growing pains of one year in business, we really got to work. Our team doubled in size, and together we placed a whopping 900 units in workplaces across Indiana. We started to realize we had something real in Office H2O, and we couldn’t wait to see where it would take us.

2017: Expanding into Kentucky and Ice

After getting comfortable conquering what we knew, we were ready to make a change beyond our home state and the liquid state. We opened a second location in Sellersburg, Indiana, near the Kentucky border, extending our services to Southern Indiana and the Louisville area. We also added commercial ice machines to our product lineup, because you can’t spell Office H2O with i-c-e, ending our third year in business with 14 team members and 2,100 systems in the field.

2018-2019: Hello, Ohio

Our next big leaps came in 2018 and 2019 when we entered Ohio – opening three additional brick-and-mortars and serving customers in Cincinnati, Columbus and Bryan. By the end of 2019, our team had grown to 33 people, and we had installed 6,200 systems, providing thousands of consumers with access to better water and ice.

2020-2021: Covid and Cleveland

While some were unable to stay afloat during Covid, we put our heads down, got creative, and rode out the storm, even expanding our reach in Ohio with a new location in Cleveland. Despite all the challenges, we continued to move forward. By the end of 2021, we had 49 team members and surpassed our 10 years/10,000 systems goal, reaching 11,000 total machines serving customers in the tri-state area.

2022-2023: Heading North

Reaching further north, South Bend, Chicago, and Milwaukee joined the map between 2022-2023. We grew to an 80-person team and placed 16,000 bottleless systems. Thanks to the help of our ever-growing team and our loyal customer base, our presence was strengthened as a regional leader in workplace hydration.

2024: Walking Our Talk

We’ve supported important causes in the past, making repeat donations to organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, but in 2024, we homed in our efforts of walking our talk and giving back to our communities in ways that align directly with our mission. We officially launched our partnership with the Bottleless Nation Charitable Foundation (BNCF), donating to causes like charity: water, Keep America Beautiful, and 5 Gyres. We also hosted our inaugural companywide Earth Day cleanup, which is now a tradition our entire team looks forward to every year. It was a year of deeper purpose, lasting impact, and laying the groundwork for a future where every drop supports something bigger. With over 100 team members and 18,000 systems placed, we closed on year nine grateful for the journey so far.

2025: Office H2O is officially Part of Bottleless Nation

We started the year officially, and proudly, joining Bottleless Nation, a purpose-driven enterprise built around the idea of “leaving it better than we found it.” As a member of the Bottleless Nation family, we now stand alongside companies like Artsian Bottleless Water and Pure Water Partners working together to eliminate plastic waste, improve hydration standards, and drive innovation across the industry. In addition, not even halfway through the year, we surpassed 19,000 cooler placements!

Including Office H2O expanded Bottleless Nation’s footprint to 25 locations, over 325 team members, and supporting roughly 34,000 machines in the field. We’re proud to play a meaningful role in that momentum.

The Future: So, What’s Next?

More markets. More partnerships. More impact. As we look ahead, we’re investing in innovative products and services and expanding our footprint while staying laser-focused on our core values: sustainability, health, and safety – for our customers, our team, and our communities. We believe in leading with purpose, being people first, and remaining adaptable in a changing world. From new hydration technology to deeper community partnerships, the future is full of promise. And we’re just getting started.
